The DÜPERTHAL type 90 safety cabinet in high-endurance test

We cannot guarantee you a long life, but what we can possibly give you are 90 decisive minutes of safety at the right moment in time. These 90 minutes of safety, or fire resistance, are guaranteed by a fire container test carried out by a Materials Testing Institute. As a rule, we rather believe what we see with our own eyes than simply trust in written confirmations and reports – and this time we wanted to see for ourselves!! (click for video) We wanted to know and observe exactly what happens with our product and its content during these 90 minutes. Therefore, a safety cabinet of the type 90 series was chosen at random directly from our production department and was subjected to a fire endurance test. In an emergency, every minute counts.

We wanted to know and observe exactly what happens with our product and its content during these 90 minutes.
Therefore, a safety cabinet of the type 90 series was chosen at random directly from our production department and was subjected to a fire endurance test.
In an emergency, every minute counts. If the protective function of the cabinet fails, the stored substances act as fire accelerants and become a source of explosions. The more time there is, therefore, for evacuating everyone and the more time the fire fighters have for fighting the fire, the better – also as this helps limit general damage. After all, 90 minutes are the equivalent length of a soccer match!
To create a particularly realistic scenario, the cabinet’s fire resistance was proven in a specially created fire container in which fire fighters are usually trained for an emergency.
Within a very short period of time, extremely high temperatures can be achieved here using fire accelerants.
It is said that fire fighters are real heroes. Now they number a new “comrade” among their ranks: the type 90 safety cabinet – our hero for 90 minutes!
